LEARN A TRADE/APPRENTICESHIP

Learning a trade through an apprenticeship program allows one to receive training and gain skills on the job while getting paid. Below are links to just some of the many trade/apprenticeship programs.

GAP YEAR

Some students may prefer to take a semester or year off before they attend college or another post-secondary program. This can be a great opportunity to pick up leadership, language, and work skills and gain exposure to different careers. Students should consider applying to college while they're in high school and then defer their enrollment and take their gap year. However, students need to check with the colleges that they're interested in to make sure they will allow students to defer. Also, many colleges have built in gap year programs for freshmen. Below are links to gap year programs and other information on taking a gap year.
